to answer 2 of the4 questions so far,,,, The reason for the gear drive is because in good ol NY the blazer will never pass insp legally with a full blower system on it..
I fail to see how a gear drive has any impact on whether or not your truck will pass inspection. And I have seen many vortech CSC blown trucks pass NYS inspection before. It isn't that difficult to pass NYS inspection. Just don't go bypassing emissions devices and you should be ok.

And again, a gear drive won't help you pass... But sure will be noisy!
