I don't know why you won't huck a tack, but if you want to hook up a tach, I don't think it's incredibly hard. You need a 12v keyed source, ground, power for the light (You could just wire it to a 12v source, but then it's on all the time. better to find the wire for the dash lights, and tap into it.) and a signal for the tach itself. Usually off the coil is the easiest place. Make sure you select the correct number of cylinders on the switch on the back of your new tachometer.

your correct. Its not hard at all. basically all aftermarket tachs come with instructions. The signal wire needs to be hooked up to the coil harness.

In my whitewater circles hucking is throw yourself over a waterfall. Maybe throw a tach? Oh wait he wont
