Is there a conversion kit to make the tailgate hinge on the side so I can reach the storage easier? 1995 blazer 4D 4x4

 

Anything is possible, but I've never heard of a kit, and I don't think it would be an easy conversion.

Is yours a drop gate, or a lift gate?

 

Mine is a drop tailgate.

 

I always wanted a drop gate, and tried to see if it was possible to convert. But its alot of work, I'm assuming it would be about the same to install side hinges.

At that, i would even go as far as making a split door, kinda like the 3 piece savana doors...

 

I used to have an '87 Suburban with the double rear door, and I loved it. The lift gate on my Blazer is pretty good for accessing the rear area, but I sometimes wish I had a drop gate to set stuff on.

 

That was the whole reason I wanted the drop gate myself lol... that and its better for tailgate parties lol
