Havnt had a chance to mess with it yet... I need to get some tranny flush. I spoke with some of the local mechanics and they say it sounds like the trans is fine, but just needs a good flush and refill.

Well, its not good news, but not bad either I guess...
Flushed the tranny and pulled the pan... Clean as a whistle!!
As I was sitting under the Blazer, decided to turn the front output shaft and noticed a gritty-grinding sound... Here comes the fun...
Unscrewed the transfer case fill and drain plugs and it is absolutely nothing but water and mud, THICK MUD. One question (I have already checked the search option) How do you, or would it be wise, to flush the transfer case? Or just go ahead and take it off the tranny and go through it while I'm at this point?
Thanks, John

Mud and water, not good. I'd drop the tcase and pop it open to get it cleaned out right.

Yes...definitely drop it. Take some pics when you pull it apart. Id be interested in the process to disassemble it!

IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1st! [email protected]#$%!!! Sooo...... Any of you guys know if the New Process 207 transfer case will fit a th350 chevy transmission without any adapters???

UPDATE:
I can do a v-8 swap, all i need is headers ($200) I have a 350 and a 700r4 trans in the Camaro I have been working on. (Non highway use)
or... get a transmission from pull-a-part in charlotte for about $80 (I have to pull it) and get lucky if it works right...

You could get the used trans and rebuild it for approx. $200 in parts, but the special tools for the job is what costs.
I'd jump on the V8 swap since you've already got that motor and trans, but you'll be needing to beef up the rest of the drivetrain to handle it.
No matter how you go, you're gonna be spending more money one way or the other.

Actually I found out that no matter what, a 2wd tranny has a main shaft that is about 3-4 inches too long. However, I do have a secondary option. One of my commercial accounts has a 700r4 from a 4.3 blazer (I know for sure this will bolt up to a small-block) And I have a freshly rebuilt 327 that I did have in my Camaro. So... a 327 with a 700r4 should be some fun! But this wont be for a while...
