Finally uploaded pics
Hi, I finally got round to uploading the pics of my Blazer, it's a 99 model, not a 2000 as I think I said in a previous post. The pics are in the gallery under my name.
KiwiBlazer - I think it was you who was asking about the headlamp levelling control, look at picture number 10, it's the bottom right control. Basically it has 3 positions so you can adjust the headlamps according to the weight in the vehicle.

Thanks - i'm generally pretty please with it.
Incidentally - how do you get on with getting spares for the RHD models over there? Most GM dealers over here don't want to know, in fact they officially no longer support the Blazers at all in the UK. Mind you, what genuine parts are available are usually stupidly priced anyway. Luckily there are a few places that sell aftermarket stuff & most service items are easily available, wonderful thing the internet! I just get concerned that one day I might need something that is RHD specific, such as a steering box or left dipping headlamps, and find that it's no longer available? As far as I know I think only the RHD models had the parking brake between the seats too so maybe getting a cable would be a pain - will have to wait & see when the situation arises.

Nice lokking blazer, did it come from the factory with the fender flares? Also the radio looks like the US spec bravada one and the 4wd switch looks like the suburban one. Also many members of this forum would kill to have your tail lights.
nice looking truck Dave.
i noticed in your 1st & 8th pic's, there are HL washers on the bumper. is that a factory option?
i did a similar thing to my '92 Jimmy, since i can't stand having dirty HL's. while what i did was custom (and had the room to hide it behind the upper grill), it'd be nice to find something for my '98, since i find my HB's get covered in crud from the road-especially when there is snow/slush on the roads.

As far as I know the fender flares were standard on the UK models. Unfortuantely, a previous owner, after scraping a wall, has replaced my passenger side front flare with an aftermarket one (he said a GM one was ridiculously expensive) which is slightly bigger, if you look carefully at one of the pictures you will notice it sticks out a bit more that side - something which I intend to try & rectify if I can get hold of the right one as it spoils the looks. As for the headlamp washers, I think they were standard on UK models too, there is a seperate reservoir for the headlamp washers located behind the front bumper & the filler is beside the hood latch. I know from reading this forum that the euro tail lights are desirable in the US.
Interestingly, I go over & stay with a buddy in Pennsylvania every year. He has a 2001 Silverado & that has euro style tail lights on it, I must ask him if they are standard or not? Maybe it depends what other markets the vehicles are sold in? I am coming over again this October, will be touring a couple local junkyards for any useful spares that i can bring back.

Maybe they were fitted by the Silverado's previous owner as it definitely has amber turn signal lenses.
I think it's a pity that the Blazer didn't catch on here - i've no idea on actual sales figures but i wouldn't mind betting that GM didn't sell more than a few hundred here between 98 & 02. It always seems to harm UK sales on anything if a diesel version isn't offered - maybe that didn't help, or maybe it was just the way they were marketed? There were only about 16 official dealers across the country. There are plenty of Cherokees & Ford Explorers here so the high fuel consumption thing can't be the whole problem?
