First time getting the call
#1
So I spent Friday night after work washing my truck...getting it all shined up and de-mudified (is that a word? lol) from my first off roading adventures the other week...and I spend Saturday waxing it after getting back from the drag races. After an hour and a half wax job, my buddy comes out and says one of his buddies needs me to call him, he's stuck in the mud and knew I had a new truck lol.
I was thinking "perfect timing, right after I finish waxing and cleaning it lol". So I give him a call, and turns out him and his buddy were out 4 wheelin and got royally (and I mean royally) stuck...and asked if I could come give him a pull. I didn't have any tow straps, and my 4x4 isn't working at the moment, but I decided to go give it a try anyway.
I drove out towards the airport (which is where they got stuck) and drove through the ditch on the side of the road into the field they were stuck in.
This is the scene I pulled up on after entering the field:

I didn't even see the 4 wheeler at first lol. He was stuck good. Anyway, the only tow strap we had was about 15-20ft long, so we tied that up to the tow hooks on the from of my blazer and began pulling.
Unfortunately, the field was fairly soft ground, and on one side of my truck was a deep ditch and the other was trees and thorn bushes, so I had an area just big enough to squeeze my truck into to try and pull him out.
After about a 1/2 hour of pulling and spinning my rear tires were dug into the soft grass and mud pretty good, and we decided to stop to avoid myself getting stuck too. After pushing me out of the rut I was in we gave up and I drove them back to their truck so they could get more chains and give it a try with their truck which had 4x4.

Pic of my ride in the field..you can see the soft ground
Anyway, I called him yesterday to find out what happened. I guess it took them 2 hours to get it out and once it was out the 4 wheeler had 2 flat tires and wouldn't start. Rough day, but fun for me to get my first call to pull someone out of the mud
. I just need to get some proper tow straps now for these occasions.

And it was a lot of fun actually. That's why I bought the truck. They felt back because I had to get it muddy right after cleaning it for so long lol, and of course driving them back to their truck got my seats and stuff all muddy too, but I didn't care one bit. This is exactly why I bought the truck
