That Sony looks like a fine head unit. But the best unit depends for you depends on how you configure and use your stereo. Why they make so many different ones..

I play everything from a single large USB drive, so having 2 USB inputs (one on cable out of back of unit into my glovebox) was important - as was being able to play FLAC format music on the flash drive in the glovebox and take bluetooth calls from my phone. Ability to play CDs was irrelevant. Also irrelevant was the amplifier in the head unit since I use an external 5-channel amp. The receiver units without the CD fit without cutting the rear radio support out of your dash.

For me, I liked the KDC-X502. Not high end by any means but I'm pretty impressed with it.
