Default Was there a mixup at the Chevy Factory?

I just inherited this 2003 Chevy Blazer and I swear this thing is a BEAST! It seems way to fast for just the 4.3? Its the LS model at that.... this is the only picture I have at the moment, its bone stock sitting in the garage. But check out the 0-60 in this thing.... jesus! If THIS is THIS fast, then where is a Trailblazer SS for sale?!

Might have a 4.2 Vortec. There an I6 & made IRC 275 HP & (Depending on the yr) 275 Ft. lbs. stock. I'd love to put one in truck but the 2Gens won't fit'em.

So the 4.2 was more powerful? And how would I find out if this is true for this truck? Did you watch the videos? It's damn quick for a midsize SUV!

That looks like a Trailblazer, not the 2nd gen Blazer like your lifted 'Big Boy'. Its not the 4.3L V6 in the newer Trailblazers and Envoys. Its the newer 4.2L I6. Look under the hood. The I6 has way more power than the 4.3L V6. If it is indeed the newer Trailblazer you should check out Trailvoy.com for ideas on what you can do for modifications on it.

Did someone take the "Trail" off the TrailBlazer badge? I don't know how else you could confuse the two.

I was wondering the same thing.

The 4.2L that year had 275 hp. They run pretty good for an SUV that's for sure. Have to get the revs up though. They struggle in the low RPM's.

I drive a 95 Blazer and my wife drives an 06 GMC Envoy XL. The Envoy is the GMC version of the Trailblazer you have only the XL means 3 rows of seats. Her truck is bigger and heavier and would walk all over my Blazer on power. That I6 4.2 made some good power. If you ask e it was a big mistake canceling the line out in 08. I am also on TRAILVOY.COM every once in a while.

At the very least, you have the 4.2 I6. There is a 5.3 V8 version, and of course, the 6.0 SS.

Those 4.2's sound amazing with an exhuast, My buddy and I helped a guy with his exhuast.

No resonator, no muffler and a 18in long 3.5in tip. It sounds really deep and smooth inperson. Oh and it sounds just like a newer cummins
