Towed a car today :)
actually it pulled it quite well. Only 2 miles to the rental place and back. The heavy duty shocks are a little too stiff anyway, Wife says it makes her chest jiggle.
Your much better off with a class 2 hitch & chains for good measure. But I've had a few of the 4.3 and they are exactly a 5.0 liter with the front 2 cylinders wacked off. They pull stront and I'm sure you have a 200R4 and I had the 700R4 rebuilt in my 90 Silverado a couple of years back and the shops owner told no matter what, never tow in 4 or overdrive. Burns the hell out off the bands and clutches. Always stay in 'D'. It ain't fast but you value your truck.
