2001 bravada making a grinding sound under hard acceleration..
I have a 2001 bravada with 130,000 miles, I've noticed under hard acceleration its makes a grinding/rubbing noise that can be felt in my feet and even steering wheel when pulling onto the highway etc coming from the front..
If I let off the gas it stops and If I'm easy on the gas and gradually get up to speed it doesn't do it either, it seems the harder you smash the gas the louder it will be, it doesn't matter if im turning or going straight the problem remains the same,
Any ideas on the cuase of this? any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Is your bravada stuck in 4wd? It could be your front axle or the u-joint on the front of your front driveshaft where it meets the axle, If it is the driveshaft should be a little loose and you should be able to jiggle your driveshaft a bit.

it doesn't seem to be stuck but then again its hard to tell.. other then the problem described above it drives and runs exellent..
I'll check the front driveshaft and report back, Thanks.

If it is stuck in 4WD you will be able to tell, especially on dry pavement when you are trying to turn into a parking space for example it will "grip" and "grab" or feel like a tire is skipping across the pavement and your steering wheel wants to jerk itself in the opposite direction you're turning it. have you ever run 2 or more different sized tires at one time? even the slightest difference in size can destroy the front end (This happened to me) I bought 235/75R15 tires and got a flat and used the smaller factory spare tire which was 235/70R15 to get the truck home and I tore up everything in my front differential and completely shattered the passenger side CV shaft joints. It took me 4 days and $238 dollars to fix it but buying a new spare tire to match the others would have been $118.

I haven't had a chance to check the front drive shaft for play due to bad weather But I plan on tackling that tommorow so we'll see if there's play or not..
As far as the 4wd being stuck there's never been the slightest of symptoms like you described, it turns exellent and never clanks, grips, or tries to bind up on me..
tires are all matching as well..
I've had one person say its possibly a cv joint but Id hate to throw money at parts and it be the wrong thing..

You can check a cv joint just like the drive shaft just wiggle it or jack up the front end and turn the wheel it SHOULD turn and when you turn one wheel the other wheel on the opposite side SHOULD turn in the opposite direction. If it doesn't then something on the inside of your front axle system is broken.
