Just an update: i went down to my local tire dealer and told the guy i wanted some 31" Cooper Discoverer STT's, and he said "so you sure you got a truck can handle that meat?" and i said yes and so i drove my stock 96 blazer in to the garage that only had a small t-bar crank.. and every mechanic in their started laughing, i guess the guy i was talking to told everyone about me.. But i got out and four workers there said that there is no possible way that i could run those big 31"s especially with that MT tread. One guy there said that he had a cherokee that was taller than my blazer and he rubbed with 30" ATs. I told them to balance them and throw them on and they wouldnt balance them cause it would be a "waste of time" cause the tires would just be ripped right off the truck cause they wont fit. So they put them on and as they started dropping the blazer back down there were about 6 mechanics watching it to see what would happen........ and i couldnt believe it but they fit!!! Everyone just looked at each other and was like WOW! They turned the wheel to see how badly it rubbed but it barely touched the frame! So those non-blazer folk got to take my tires off and balance them and put them back on!! one guy told me that i just turned that thing into a tank with those tires! This was my first trip to get tires and it will probably be my best!!

I had an '89 that I put 30x9.5's on, and they never rubbed. IDK about the newer body style.

I just took my 30's off, only because i found 235's for a good price, my 97 is stock with no t bar crank and i had no rubbing problems, bad pitman arm and LCA bushings, but thats a different topic

Hi everyone, I am new here and new to Blazer. I just got an old 1983 Blazer and fairly good shape for a very good price. I did not like that the previous owner put low tires (195/50/15) to make it a low rider! Shame for a 4X4 so I wanted to make it back to what it should be. I did not research and went and got a set of tires 265/70 Rim 16. And order a very nice 16 inch rims (do not have them yet but they are coming). So now that I entered this forum I am really worried I went to big. Is a size 265/70r16 equal to a 31/10.5r15 ? Please help, I cannot send the tires back nor the rims. Will I need to lift my Blazer?

they will fit if the truck if its not lowered.

IF its lowered you need to raise it to its stock height.
