What would be better to put on a blazer with 33s, 4.10 or 4.56 gear ratio??

Need a little bit more info on what you are driving, but with no info available I'll go with 4.56.

considering you've got 3 Blazer's listed up there, AJ's right, more info required.

i have a formula (around here somewhere.......) that helps you figure out what gears to run with your set-up. gonna go lookin' for it, i'll post it when i find it.

for 33" tires you need 4.56. otherwise you'll be making alot of damage to the transmission.

ok, sorry guys. Its for my 87' blazer in my sig. I'm gonna be putting the trailmaster lift with a 3" body lift on it. I'm gonna be getting 33x12.5 for it. I want to regear the front diff as i'm lifting it so i dont have to take it apart again.

i have 33s on mine and run with the stock 3.42s. Its not real bad for city driving but it sucks on the highway. I plan on getting 4.11s this summer

you do realize that both diff's need to be the same ratio, right?

I have 33's on my '74 and it still has the stock 3.73 gears. It gets down the road just fine. I do have 4.10's for my Dana 44 and the 14-bolt full floater I have in the barn.

Now with a 2.8L engine, you want all of the mechanical advantage you can get so 4.56's would probably suit your truck quite a bit better. However, before choosing between 4.10's and 4.56's though, you will likely want to look at your RPMs at your typical driving speed to make sure you aren't going to cause other problems. All depends on how you plan on using your truck.

i was gonna say if it was a fullsize blazer with no over drive 410s or even 373s. im running 410s on my k30 with 33s and it kinda sucks on the highway. but with that 2.8 you might need the little boost.

i had a 85 with a 2.8 and 33s i ran for a few years but the engine was f'ed up. only ran on 5cyl so i really cant give a testimonial to how good it ran on the road.

whats in it now?
