Default 4 wheel drive question

hey guys. i'm new to having a blazer 4X4. its actually my first car i've ever had with 4 wheel drive. anyway, i let my brother borrow it the other day to go to work in the snow. on his way back, there was no snow and the pavement was slightly wet, but no more snow and he left it in 4HI the whole ride back home. -a 40 mile drive. can thathave done harm to my 4 wheel drive? i heard from some people that if there is no snow, and the pavement is dry it can do damage to the 4 wheel drive.
i have not noticed anything different on the truck. i just kinda want piece of mind. thank you in advance.

Could do damage, but most likely did nothing. So long as there were no sharp turns during the drive, it probably did nothing. How does the truck drive/sound now?

he drove it on a few long backroads with curves for a few miles. but they are not sharp curves. just the gradual type.
it drives fine. it could be my imagination, but the steering feels a little stiffer. i know the 4 wheel drive is not still on because i drove it on snow in 2HI the other day and i was sliding around haha. i do not hear any unusual sounds either. so hopefully it is fine.
