Hi all and thanks ahead of time for you help. i just bought a 92 blazer full size, 350, and i knew the trany was bad when i bought it, i pulled the trany and now its off being rebuilt, heres the question i figured id check things out while i had it torn down, i have a 241c transfer case, and i put it in gear manuly on the ground both ways and it seems to like its not in gauged but looking at the parts break down on line it allmost looks like it has a clutch pack in like a auto trany, am i right or how show it behave on the ground, just want to make sure all is good before putting it back in, i guess what im asking how to make sure its in working order while on the bench. thanks all,

Default RE: New here have a TC 241c question thanks

The NP241 transfer case has a planetary style gear reduction for LO range. I suspect the planetary gear set is what you are mistaking as a "clutch pack". THIS PAGE shows a lot of pictures of the inside of the NP241C transfer case as it walks through the slip-yoke eliminator kit installation.

As far as testing it, you may have to turn the input a bit while making the mode (2HI to 4HI) or range change (2HI to 4LO or 4HI to 4LO).
