Default 4x4 Lights

What actually controls the lights for the 4 wheel floor shifter? My 4 wheel indicator works, but my light is always on 4 low. The diff is not locked and the trans case is not engaged into 4 wheel. I traced the wires on the light circuit board up into the dash, but then I lose it.

This is on an 85 blzr, federal emissions.

Thank you.

Should just be a switch in the shifter console... Being that you have a floor shifter, it is directly connected to the transfer case.

The light for the front axle is controlled by a switch on the front axle.

Unless the person who owned it before me did some re-wiring here is my problem.

There is a little circuit board in the floor shifter area that has 5 lights in it. One side of the board is for the 2 hi, 4 hi, neutral, and 4 low lights. The other side is for the area that iluminates the little diagram of the truck with the 4 wheels.

The side with the 4 wheels is wired into the switch on the side of the floor shifter. That light turns on fine anytime I go into 4 wheel drive.

The other side of the board is connected to 3 wires that go up under the dash and I loose it somewhere above the steering column. I even pulled the dash and can't seem to see those wires. I looked under the vehicle and the only switch I have that is visible, is the one on the front diff.
