4x4 problem

4x4 problem
New to me truck, 2003 s10 crewcab 112k
Got it form a used car lot 4x4 not working but guy fixed it, he took it to a Firestone place.
Press the button, shifts just fine I can hear and feel the t case is engaged. I checked the front by lifting the front and putting in 4x4 then try to spin the front drive shaft, it does not move when in 4x4, but freely when in 2x4.
Checked for error codes and none.
The first time I check the front vacuum actuator and it works.
Any ideas?
