Default 96 blazer front axle swap questions

Ok I'm really looking into doing a SAS on my blazer. I want to know what the best axle would be to use to keep the gear ratio stock. I'm not switching my tires out after I do the SAS because I just got new tires and that would be a waste anyway. I only want to switch the front end out for know and I'm going to fab my own axle hanger kit. I've been looking around and I heard people saying you can use a jeep axle and put the chevy hubs on to keep a 5bolt pattern I don't know if this is true. I'm looking for pointer's on doing this of what else would need to be done besides building my axle hanger and welding it on and just slapping the axle on. Any input would help thanks. Brandon

Edit: Also I want to keep it street legal and max tires I probably would go with would be 35's.
