ABS Engaging when it is not supposed to!
I have a 2001 Blazer (4WD,) and my ABS is engaging when it is not supposed to be. I just recently replaced the Wheel/Hub Assembly within the last 2 months, including brand new wheel speed sensors. My ABS light comes on and off, but stays on more than not. I inspected the wires, and the sensors again, but could not find anything. Hooked up the computer to it, and no codes came up. I'm lost right now, does anybody have any clue to what could be goin on? I took the fuse out for now, so it does not engage, but i would really like to get this fixed. Thanks.
When does it engage? Have you tested the mV-AC output from each of the front sensors with a multimeter while spinning the wheel? Did you use a full feature scan tool capable of accessing the EBCM (electronic brake control module)?
It's only when I am slowing down, and at low speeds. Typically anywhere from 0-15mph, but it's not consistent beyond that. I use a self help auto shop here in Germany (military) so i do not know if it was a full feature scan tool (will double check.) I will go back and check the outpul level of the sensors. Thank you, and I will let you know if I can figure it out. <---rookie at diagnosing issues! haha
