ABS Issues ?

Ok the specs: 2001 Chevy Blazer LT 4X4 automatic with approximately 178,000 miles.
The issue is at low speed my ABS kicks in (without a dash light) and it feels like it doesn't want to stop but does. Never happens at high speeds; only like pulling into a parking space or slowing down for a stop sign. I read here that it could be a sensor in the hub (?).
Brake lines and fluid is good as well as the rotors and pads. I looked underneath and behind the driver's side wheel and it looks like there is a build up of sludge there. I have a small radiator leak on that side and it may cause the accumulation of "crap" on the backside (probable cause?). The radiator is my next challenge. The passenger's side is clean and dry. I am going to pull the fuse and see what happens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I would start by finding the abs sensor wiring on driver side( where you leak is) to make sure wiring clip is ****ted up. Clean it up if this doesn't help start testing your abs sensors for resistance and make sure it changes when you spin tire. If one has no resistance or doesn't change when spun its bad. also check your wheel hub bearings if going bad they will mess with abs. If worst comes to worst pulling fuse will make the abs not kick in any more.

I pulled the ABS fuse and the problem stopped. Lost the cruise but that's ok. I can stop now without worrying about hitting something. Just haven't had time to investigate it any further due to a death in the family. Maybe next week when things finally calm down, I will pull the wheel and take a peak. Is it any harder/complicated with a 4X4? Will let you know what I find. (stay tuned . . .)
