Default ABS mystery...

ok, i have read quite a lot on ABS related problems on cars in general and on blazers.
i own a 98 blazer 4x4 4dr auto 4.3l

last year i had a low speed activation, i found a broken wire on the passenger side sensor. soldered it and heat shrinked the cable and problem was gone until yesturday.

it started again, activates at low speed during braking.
no broken wires, ohm on each sensor is around 1.5k ohm but i can't generate AC voltage on both sensors...

my question is, why i cant generate voltage on BOTH sensors, and what to test next ?

thanks for your help !

theres a common problem i see alot with chevys where rust builds up where the abs wire bolts to the bearing. the rust actually lifts up the sensor a hair causing the abs to engage while braking below like 5mph. only problem is sometimes when you go to pull that wire off to clean it that wire can get stuck in there and break

yes i read the gm bulletin on this problem, but i dont think both sensors would move in the same day... i would like to know more about this.

like can i remove 1 or 2 shims from under the sensor so it sits closer to the ring ? or i risk making it too close to the ring ?

i want/need ABS for our canadian winter, i really find it helps to stop/steer the truck on slippery surfaces.

i removed the fuse for now but the light is annoying, i'll fix it...

Could be your hub bearing(s) going bad too. Have you noticed a grinding noise when you drive?

there is no play in bearings, but i can hear a little roaring when driving but i think its from my tires.

Try a search for ABS Sensor Cleaning. GM actually has a spray to use for this issue.
