Default ABS problems

This morning i was driving on some ice. when i put the breaks on i could hear the abs module running but it seemed that my breaks were gone, the blazer did not slow down, it felt like a brake line had broken. while stopping on dry pavement the brakes work fine, the problem is only there while the abs is activated. Will i have to say good bye to my ABS?

Did your brakes feel normal before the ABS activated? It is possible that the icy surface did not offer up any traction...

The older chevy ABS were crappy in my opinion. Hence the ABS upgrades on the newer models. My 94 Yukon did the same as what your talking about. Sounds to me like they did what they were capable of in the icy conditions.

Sometimes I wish it was possible to overide 'em.
