My main truck a 1994 chevy k1500 with 3.73 gears decided to break on me yesturday and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what would cause a grinding noise in reverse w/out power to rear axel and then 10 ft later in forward the same thing. going to tear apart my rear axel tomorrow but thought i'd ask the chevy guys first. also does anyone know a really good brand or better conversion axel setup for towing(8,000lb's or so) with this kind of truck. rather not break my 78 k5 and instead use this one still for towing.
