Axel shaft tubes and shifting fork for 4x4
My 1999 isuzu hombre xs 4.3l v-6(aka screwed over s-10) tried shifting itself into 4x4 going 70 mph down the highway. That problem was vaccuum(fixed it new vaccuum switch), new problem is now it won't shift into 4x4 even when 20" of Hg is applied to the diaphram that locks the front diferential in via cable. We have figured the shifting fork has been damaged. The only problem is the axel tube on the passenger side appear to have to be removed in order to get the fork out. Can this be done without having to take apart the cv shaft and the whole hub assembly?
