Default Axle threads

I wanted to know if I can cut off the extra threads on my axles? I have a 97 blazer 4 door all wheel drive, I bought wheels for it and the axle threads stick out too far to put the center caps on the front. I can take some pictures if needed.

i dont see no problem with it. i used to do it all the time on my other s10s as i didnt have a deepwell socket. just make sure you cut it with the nut on so it will repair any threads on its way off and leave at least 2-3 threads past the nut.

okay cool, I didn't think it would be a problem either. I wanted to make sure first though, time to bust out the hack saw and get to it then.

Is it smooth? I know bed liner has chunks of rubber and normally has a textured finish to it.
