ball joint snapped

Default ball joint snapped

hey hows it going i have a 97 blazer S10 and yesterday i was driving my rig on a city street and all of the suddeni heard this snapp and my front end dropped down i milked my baby off the road and got a tow well i got it home and i just took the tire off and looked at it and saw that the upper left ball joint snapped so do any of you guys know how to replace that part

Yea, there's a nice DIY with pics on here.

Basically, you're going to have to drill out the rivets holding the old ball joint in, and then you'll just use bolts and nuts to hold the new one in. Two things to note: 1)if one of your ball joints failed, the rest are probably not too far behind. 2) spend money and get the good ones, or you'll be doing this again very soon [&o]

I agree... I replaced all 4 of mine up front before they gave out... not a hard thing to do if you have the right tools to grind off the rivets... new ones are easy to put in then.
