Default Broken shock mount

Hey guys,
Don’t know really anything about cars, but trying to learn as I move along. I have an 85 k5 blazer. And my front lower shock mount on the driver side has snapped. But not at the weld. Can I just remove the weld and weld a new mount on? And are the mounts able to be slightly different sizes(lengths). Thanks
