Hey everyone. I had a Posi-Lok system installed in January for the front axle. How do I disable the vacuum switch on the transfer case so that I don't have any problems caused by it?

 

the posi lock is only to lock in the front diff, you still need to lock in the transfer case so that you have 4wd. only way to disable it is to remove the electronics and convert it to a manual transfer case with a lever or a shifter

 

I realize the electronics are there to stay unless I want to convert it to a manual transfer case (not going to happen anytime soon). I mean the vacuum part only, so the transfer case is electronic and the front axle is cable operated. All I want to do is get rid of the now-unused vacuum parts before they start to leak and cause a problem.

 

if you mean the vacuum canister under the battery, you could just disconnect them. and plug the hole with a bolt and a ziptie.

Even if it does leak, the transfer case will switch normally. It has nothing to do with the vacuum system to lock in the front diff.
