Calling all blazer professionals!
MY HEAD IS RAW FROM ALL THE SCRATCHING I HAVE BEEN DOING THESES LAST FEW HOURS. (and im losing the little hair i have left)
Here it is... please help! ( and no it's not my TCCM nor is it my Encoder OR not my Vacuum actuator either )
Im going to be very elaborate, its been a long and frustration few months concerning my 4X4. I am the proud owner of a 1998 heavy Chevy Blazer 4x4.
A few months ago (summer time) driving on the highway at about 120km/hr after approx 40-50kms a loud humming/growning bearing type noise began so i pulled over. Thinking my wheels were flying off I jacked both front wheels on the side of the highway and everything seemed tight. So I then began to move on with my roadtrip and surprisingly the noise was gone. Days went by when all of a sudden on the highway booking at about 120 it happend again. I just so happend to try hitting it in 4hi and the noise stoped instantly. It happend a few other times in the following weeks/months and then all of a sudden im stuck in 4HI. so i did what everyone else seemed to be doing and kept unplugging my neg battery cable thinking maybe my tccm was heading out for lunch.
Now .. today.. my problem has worsened. My switch tells me im in 4HI.. I cannot switch back into 2HI. Although i am clearly in 2hi cause i can do a mean 1 wheel peel. (haha)
I have changed my Acutator under the battery tray. did nothing. im unpluged my battery. still nothing. checked for power and ground at all major components. good in that departement. tccm is corrosion free. even tryed swapping it..
WTF? FML!
any other ideas.
p.s. i can hear my tccm and encoder working.!
thanks a bunch

I am posting from my phone while sitting in a fire truck so forgive me for not linking directly to the article in question. Take a look at the Tech Article (DIY) Index link in my signature below. In that post, you will find a link to an article describing your exact condition and how to go about repairing it.
