can i upgrade from a stock 15'' rim to 17'' rim without any extra modification

Please edit your post before bumping.
But any way there are a lot of combinations on what you can do. Not knowing if you have a 4x4 or 2x4. But as long as your keep your tire close to the same size height wise as the stock tires you should fine. Try to keep the backspacing/offset close to the stock by using spacers and you should be ok. check out camaro/firebird/vette rim swaps as I have seen 20" vette rims on syclones/typhoons fit.

Almost any rim size is possible. It just depends on how much work you want to do. Post up some specs about your truck, and any specific rims you're looking to fit and maybe we can help more.

I put 17s on mine, they bolted on and fit fine. they stick out a little more than the stock wheels did, but that's what I wanted.
