CV axle repair aftermath
Just replaced a cv axle and when we went to text drive it it almost had a "hopping" feeling to it....i know my idler are and pitman arm arent the best and i turned the wheel without it running..... would one of those cause a hopping feeling? or is it something else?

Well after dicovering that auto zone gave me the wrong cv axle i put the correct one in only to find out the cx axle nut was the only thing holding the hub together so after a new hub and the correct axle all is well again

How well did it fit in? I just put in a cv axle from autozone and it was 2 inches longer than the one I was supposed to have. I cranked and cranked and now, low and behold, my differential mount is cracked. I thought I heard something breaking, as I was tightening the hub, but then my ratchet broke so I thought it was just that.

May I suggest that you check your differential and make sure that you didn't crack it like I did....I can only imagine what mine would have been like if I had driven it. Holy Jeebus I would have probably completely dropped the differential and busted both axles at the point it is at now!
