The clunk in the rear, that never got fixed....
well just for the record i'm not some tool that would throw parts at a problem just to see if it fixed it, i have seen countless threads of slop in a driveline caused by worn out u-joints, i have seen guys crawl all over a driveline and claim the u-joints were fine only to find out they pulled the caps off and found nothing but dust, for the price of u-joints, it is reasonable to change them.....and if you not getting more than 18-20 months out of a GOOD replacement, then you have other issues as well...jmo!
Hi again, I haven't updated this thread, as I haven't fixed the problem.
The play is still there, it has gotten worse, but still noe visual or hands on play in the u-joint. But I can feel/hear a thumping noise behind the brakedrums. I know that I have bad wheel bearing, but can they be so bad that they cause play in the drive line?
Now when winters is here, I use 4x4 often, I can feel that the front wheels engage before the rear wheel going from a full stop or a slow down.
I have also had the blazer at a drive line shop, they couldn't find any play in the u-joints. But they could be wrong.
