CV axle disconnect?

CV axle disconnect?
I ordered the front differential to replace mine because I found pieces of metal in the diff oil when I changed it. Looks fairly simple to replace. The question I have is if mine has a disconnect on either side to remove in order to get the axles out. Passengers side almost certainly doesn't have one.
If it does, how much of a problem can they be for removal?
