Do i have a locking rear end???

Yup or get the rear end on gravel or sand & step on it! If you only have one tire (passenger side) tossing rocks then Nope - open rear end. If one side spins for a second then you see 2 tracks & of rocks being tossed - G80 rear end.
Cat is right, the glove box should have the RPO code G80 in the #'s... my way is a little more fun is all lol.

G80, for sure. Be careful though, a worn out G80 unit will act just like an open diff. So, I agree with Rottidog: get that little truck on some dirt or gravel and stomp the **** out of it! If the rearend grenades, then it was probably on it's way out anyway.
I put a G80 in my 2wd s10 pickup, and it works great in the snow

That's a great price installed, just make sure it has the same gear ratio as the front diff!

Resurrecting decade old threads for a question is generally frowned upon. Better to start a new thread to ask questions.
That being said, no. The G80 is a mechanical locking differential, and it basically just uses springs and counter weights to sense when the two wheels are spinning at different speeds, and will lock them together. There are no controls or sensors that you can modify to control the G80. You'd need to install an aftermarket selectable locker to have that control.
