Default Energy suspension 1996 Jimmy leaf spring bushings

Hey all, 1996 jimmy, Well my drivers side shackle rotted and broke so have to replace. Reading on i see that i will be destroying leaf spring bushing didn't like the idea of pressing bushings back in i decided to buy the energy suspension bushing kit. Everything seems like it's supposed to drop in. My question, directions say to leave upper out metal from old bushing and remove the outer sleeve on the leaf spring. Did that and when i put the bushings in the spring they seem to have a little room to move. I called Energy suspension and they say it's the right set. So has any one installed these and will they fill the eyelet of the spring when i tighten them up. Thanks

Well after calling twice i was told to call another number. The gentleman there explained alot. It appears the upper bushing mount on my Jimmy is the standard s type. So the upper bushings fit. Now the leaf spring turns out to be an option when the car was first bought. He believes it to be a heavier load spring. The inside diameter of the spring eye measured 1.725 he found what he thinks should do the trick. Energy suspension # 3.2125G spring bushings only. right in the add says for 1 3/4 " eyelet. Also uses same dowel. So had to order that kit, should be here on wednesday. The Energy suspension kit # 3.2129G fit the upper factory bushing but the spring bushings measure 1 1/2 "
