Question FIrst blazer, first 4x4 probelms

Just bought a 1992 blazer, 4wd, with 212K miles on it. Don't worry, only paid $500, so if the 4wd doesn't work it's not that big of a deal. The engine does run very well though.

When I pull the shifter **** to switch from 2wd to four I can feel the transfer case kick it into gear, but the 4wd itself doesn't work.

I was thinking it's either in the t-case, or the front differential. Tell me what you think.

Also, does a posi-lok kit bypass the t-case engagement? Would it work for the manual, not push button, 4wd? And are they practical for a daily driver?
