Default Front axle dissasembly

Hey all, search is not showing what i need to know, and that is, a front 4x4 axle how to, or pics on how to take a front 4x4 axle apart. On line google isnt much help either. Ultimantly i would like to put a Richmond Gear powertrax in the front.. any help would be awsome... 2000 jimmy 4x4

I'd suggest getting the Factory Service Manual (three volume set) at best or a Hayne's/Chilton's at worst. It's a bit involved and you'll need to know torque specs when putting everything back together.

thanks for the reply AJBert, yea, the hanyes is marginal at best but has some good info, and chiltons
is almost as o.k., i guess a set of shop manuals will set me back a few coin, and a house payment or too,

Too bad you have a 2000, I just happen to have a 1999 set not being used. You should be able to find a set for about $75 +/- on ebay or the like.

they should be the same or atleast close enough for the front axle right

I would think so. I don't think they changed anything in the 98+ front ends.
