Question front ball joints

What is the normal life span for ball joints. I have just found out that the front ball joints in my 2002 blazer have to been replace as they failed a warrant for my blazer to be on the road.

Kiwi

Driving a blazer in the true down under........

Had they been replaced all ready when you purchased her or are you replacing them for the first time? You can tell if they have been replaced as originals are riveted in.
Blazer are hard on ball joints. Mine is a 2000 bought at 58000 km lower ball joints have already replaced.

Hey Kiwi Where you been? Long time no hear. I thought you'd maybe sold your truck.. Maybe you've just never had issues till now. LOL

If I remember right you're the guy in the Waikato (Hamilton area)

I've done 98k with my '99. No ball joint issues.

I drive in & around Auckland & save for one trip in the forrest mostly on sealed roads (tarmac). Having said that, there is one stretch in Auckland that shakes the s*** out of the suspension. I ride this at least once a day.

Anyway, my ball joints are still ok - well, it's due for it's WOF this month so we'll see what happens. Oh & my ball joints are still riveted so I guess that means they are still the originals.
