I was replaceing my left half shaft under warranty. When i put the exchanged half shaft in at first it wouldnt go then with a little wiggleing and twisting it goes all at once . No hammering or forceing. Go and put the bearing on it wont fit. Come to find out they gave me a ford half shaft that goes in deeper and wont come out. I am thinking that the snap ring expanded on the far side of the gear on the inside.

Dose any one have any ideas i took the bolts for the side cover off (left side by the way) and nothing what will it take to pull the left side cover half shaft gear and all so i can get to the clip to compress it

Normally when removing the half-shaft the easiest way to get the clip to release is to put a chunk of wood (short length of 2x4 works great) against the half-shaft and then hit the wood with a hammer. This is usually enough to pop it out. Good luck.
