Default Front differential

So, after the transfer case ordeal, I changed the differential oil on the front. Found little pieces of metal in the oil. Gonna replace it and maybe try to rebuild the old one.

Question: mine has the GT4 (3.73) front. Would the front differential from the 96 bravada that I got the transfer case from, have the same gear ratio as mine?

Or do you think I could get the VIN number to call and check before they pull it, just in case?

Mine is a 97 Bravada

3.73 is quite common in the Bravada's, but you should check to be sure. If the donor truck is still fairly intact, you could check the RPO code sheet in the glovebox. Otherwise, you could spin the front driveshaft while holding one of the wheels. It should take approximately 3.73 turns of the front driveshaft to rotate the unheld wheel 2 rotations if it's a 3.73 gear ratio front diff.

I'll probably end up asking them for the VIN number and call a dealership to verify. The tcase worked just fine, hopefully the front differential will.

They don't let you pull it at this yard. You tell them what you need and they go out to pull it. I'll have to ask them for the VIN and call a dealership.
