Default Front driveshaft trouble 2001 Blazer

Ok I have trouble with my front driveshaft. It looks like the bearing coming out of the transfer case (NP08) that goes around the front driveshaft is bad. There is a lot of play in the shaft at the bearing. It vibrates around 50 and up and was better in 4 wheel drive. I want to rebuild the front shaft but can't find " How To". Can you just pull the front shaft and bearing and buy a new bearing and seal and put it back. If I can what to look at ( drive shaft thickness ) . Where can I get the part for a good price. I have seen the bearing as much as a rebuild shaft. Thanks for the help!

i have never seen one of those bearings go bad, so no idea how to get it out of there. but for a little bit of help the driveshaft does just pop out of the transfercase with a small pry bar.

maybe thats what happened, if it slides in and out of the transfercase with ease then it may not have been popped in all the way

Thanks for your help. It pretty bad . It moves about 1/32 to an 1/8 slop. The gasket is bad and the grease fitting is seized. The u joint is good in the front. I haven't done anything yet because I have to fined a place. I was going to take the driveshaft out to see if its grooved from the bad bearing.

Is it the output shaft of the transfer case that has movement, or is it the CV that is worn out?

It is the driveshaft that moves inside the bearing. The bearing doesn't seem to have any slop. I'm hope that all I have to do is remove the drive shaft , pry the bearing off and put new one on.

I don't think it will be quite that easy, but it shouldn't be a difficult fix. May be a trip to the PNP for a front driveshaft.
