Question front end noise at full turn lock zr2

Have 04-05 ZR2. When ever the steering whell is turned at full lock either way there is grinding noise in front end. Drives ok otherwise light howl from front end at about 30mph in 4 wheel drive.
I thought at first it was wheel bearings changed one but did not help. I thought then it was differential bearings?
I talked to mechanic about rebuilld he said he is not sure it is the differential with those symptoms, he needs to take a look at it.
Anybody have an ideas on what the problem is? The differntial is leaking at the cv seals.
99,000km on truck. Automatic 04-05 ZR2

Thanks

if you have it in 4wheel and turn full lock it will do that....try it in 2wheel only.

Default zr2 front end noise

That is in 2wd sorry. I drove it over the winter and it seems to be disengaging from 4wd least the front tires do pull like in 4wd.

Default front diff grind on turns

Well nobody has any ideas I guess. Update. The truck was parked for about a week in the garage. I backed it out of the garage being carefull to avoid full lock turns or almost full lock turns and took it to the shop.
Not a 4 wheel shop but they could not find anything wrong. Hmmm? So drove it home sure enough it quit grinding on full lock or almost full lock turns.?
So maybe something to do with vacum? on the 4wd system? Maybe it is sticking partially engaged in 4wd and after it sits for a week it is becoming unstuck? I do not know but I will be avoiding puting it in 4wd till I can find out what the problem is.

Just a note here about a week before I took to shop jacked it up put it in 4wd and tested the pasanger side wheel. It was locked. Changed back to 2wd and the passenger wheel spun freely.

Still open to ideas.
