Front End - What's left to fix?
Good morning everyone. I'm pretty new to this forum and have found a lot of what I've read interesting. I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a 4x4 2001 S-10 Blazer.
I've had a lot of front end problems and in recent weeks have had the following replaced -
R/F Bearing
2 front tires
Then yesterday...(at a Chevy dealer)
Upper and lower ball joints
Right and left inner tierods
Left outer tierod
Idler arm
Then they did an alignment
So after all that I took it on the highway last night and it still felt like at any moment it was going to pull off to the side of the road. And it vibrates at pretty much any speed.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what it could be. Maybe the l/f bearing? Or maybe they did a horrible job on the alignment? As you might tell I am pretty mechanically ignorant.
Thanks
Ian

The vibration is probably from the tires not being balanced properly, alignments don't cause vibration. If it pulls left or right it's most likely a poor alignment or they just did a "toe and go" and didn't set the Caster or Camber, but sometimes a bad tire will cause a pull.... even new tires...
If they gave youa copy of the alignment specs and you can scan them to your computer and post it here, I can tell you whether or not its causing the pull.

Thanks, I'll take it to a front end place to see if it needs a balancing, or even an alignment.
They didn't give me any kind of printout for the alignment, just the bill.
