Default help with shocks

I have a 95 blazer with the cheap monroe matic shocks on it. it isnt very smooth when i get it off pavement, onto stone or dirt. i was wondering if i put a better set of shocks on it such as monroe reflex monotube or sensa trac if it would be a smoother ride and would be worth the money. any ideas?
