Hello, I have a 1993 Chevy Blazer 4x4 K 1500 5.7 ltr. I replaced the rear brake shoes and all the hardware. I also bled the brakes, the problem I have is how do I adjust the parking brakes? Thank you.

There are two access holes with knock outs toward the bottom of the backing plates. The backing plates are the same on each side, so only one knock out is lined up with the adjuster, usually the rear one. The knock outs need to be removed to access the adjusters.

Okay, the knockout holes are too low, they are no where near the adjuster, I had to remove the drum and open the adjuster just enough so that the drum fit on snuggly. The question is do the bands adjust automatically?

The oval shape knock outs are for manually adjusting the shoes. The star wheel adjuster needs to be toward the rear of the vehicle. If it's in backwards, it will not line up with the knockout holes, and the brakes will not self adjust.
When drum brakes are applied while moving forward, the star wheel adjuster and the lower ends of the shoes move slightly, (clockwise on the passenger side, and counterclockwise on the driverside). When the brakes are applied while moving in reverse, the lower ends of the shoes move slightly in the opposite direction. When they move, the adjuster lever catches a tooth on the star wheel adjuster and lengthens the adjuster. Only the first brake application in reverse will make an adjustment, (pumping the brakes does not make multiple adjustments). After that, the brakes need to be applied in forward to "reset" the shoes for the next adjustment attempt. When there is no movement of the shoes in either direction, the shoes are adjusted properly. They will not over adjust themselves. While travelling ~3-5 mph in reverse, apply a quick, firm "jab" and release of the pedal. If the rear brakes lock up during the jab, good, you know you hit them hard enough
. Easy application will not operate the self adjusters. Depending how far the shoes are out of adjustment, it might take several times to get them fully adjusted.
