My 1988 k5 blazer key won't turn off. Engine keeps running. No problem turning on. But takes a lot of effort to turn off. I can take key out with ignition still on. Any suggestions? Ignition lock replacement? I hope not because steering wheel and parts have to come off.

 

The lock mechanism can be separate from the ignition switch so it is likely there is something broken in there.
