Default Leaf Spring Bushings

Hello all,

I am currently trying to install lift shackles on my 2001 ZR2. I got the stock shackles off but Im having trouble with the bushings that are in the leaf springs. I did a search on the forum and on google but the ideas Ive found havent worked. I drilled out the rubber then attacked it with an air hammer but they are still stuck.

Does anyone have any more ideas about how to get the bushings out?

Thanks in advance

if you can get the rubber out you can cut the bushings metal sleeve and collapse it...thats what i did.

If you can get the metal sleeve out first, then the rubber.

Thanks for all the ideas. I was able to push out the centers with a wheel puller then beat at the rest for a while with an air hammer. New bushings are in and shackles are installed. It looks great. Ill be posting pic on my build thread in a few days.
