Exclamation a little question

can any one tell me what rear gear ratios a 92 s10 2 wheel drive could have .... i recently sent my gears threw the diff cover on my 97 blazer and its got GU6 code so its 3.42 gears , and i am buying a rear end out of a 92 2 wheel drive s 10 for $50, or how could i tell what gears they are ... i dont care ill drive it untill i find the right gears , i just want to know so i can put it in 4x4 or not, i dont wanna kill my front diff gears

Turn the pinion and count how many revolutions it takes to get 1 revolution out of the drive axle. 3.42's would be just shy of 3 and 1/2 turns. 3.73's would be just shy of 3 and 3/4's of a turn. Mark the pinion in 4 places so that you can count in 1/4 turn increments.

If your 97 is a 4wd, the 2wd axle will be narrower.
