I bought the rims separately. The tires didn't have rims. $100 for 5 sold by a family with a mechanic in it. Excellent condition. Just dusty. They are S-10 "turbine" style 4x4 rims. The original ones are mounted to my all-season tires and are stored for the winter.

Chevrolet Silverado bad u-joint or slip yoke? - YouTube

Exactly as I am describing. But the yoke was polished and checked when the pinion seal was replaced weeks ago! How could it just go bad? I think I saw them check the U-Joints when the driveshaft was hanging from the T-case. Can I just live with the noise or does that mean that there is a bigger problem? When the cover was removed last year/10,000 miles ago, the mechanic didn't report anything wrong with the differential internals, so I think that the diff is not the problem. How could the yoke go bad? Does this mean that it can break? It has done the noise going into gear for a long time intermittently, but it stopped after each time I replaced the TPS sensor. It only seems to want to do it in reverse 7/10 of the time and drive .5-1/10 of the time (or less). The remainder there is no noise.

Try grabbing the driveshaft while in gear and see how much play you have when trying to turn it. A bad u joint can cause a popping sound when force is changed. Just a thought.

yeah, check all the joints for sure...front and rear drive shaft.
not saying your mech is bad...but could have forgot a clip on the joint.
never know. check that asap, dont want to break a u joint going down the road.
check tranny mount too.
