Default Lowering Advice

So......

I'm pretty determined to lower my 96 jimmy fairly soon. I have practically decided to stick to a drop spindle/drop block setup.

I have found a few kits that come with everything I need. One is from rough country that has a 2 inch drop in the front, and 2.5 in the back. The other one i'm looking at is from lmc truck, I can choose from either a 2/2 or a 2/2.5 from them. The RC one is a bit cheaper, and I've watched the youtube video and it looks legit.

Now the question is, which one would you go for? My jimmy seems to sit fairly level front and back right now, so I'm thinking that if I do a 2/2.5 the rear end would be a bit lower, and I don't want that. So if thats the case, it pretty much narrows it down to the LMCTruck version for me.

What do you guys think about the levelness of the truck, and have you used either of these brands of lowering kits? I'm also very open to suggestions for different kits. These 2 are under 300 bucks a peice, so I'd prefer if the price was around that range.

Thanks guys.

I'm looking at lowering my '02 Blazer. I was looking at the Bell Tech spindles, but my understanding is that you have to grind the control arm some. I think I'm going with springs. Where did you find the Rough Country kit? I can't find it on their site.

here's the link to the 2/2.5 one, they also have a 2/3

2in / 2.5in Lowering Kit for 82-04 Chevy / GMC 4wd S10 Pickup / SUV [724] | Rough Country Suspension Systems

I gave them a call today. They claim that you can still use stock tires with it, and it is a direct bolt on. You can also look that kit up on youtube and watch the install video. There was no grinding involved in their install video, which is comforting. I definitely don't want to be grinding anything.

I decided to go with spindles over springs because I don't want to replace the shocks just yet, mine were recently replaced and they are in great condition.

If anyone can answer my question above about the 2/2 vs 2/2.5 I'd really appreciate it.

BirchyBoy, I also came across drop spindles and blocks on stylintrucks.com

DJM suspension brand, very reasonably priced. DJM has been around for a long time, so I may give those a shot, only around 160 for the set plus shipping. Check those out as well.

EDIT: They have a coupon code for free shipping on the site right now, so cut the shipping cost. I think I'm ordering these things tomorrow. I was going to hold off for a while, but that price is too good to pass up with free shipping.

Good luck! That looks like a great deal on the Rough Country package.

Honestly I think I'm going to go with the DJM kit, My main concern is whether to do a 2 inch drop in the back or 2.5 in the back, but the drop blocks are so cheap that If I had the 2 inch I can always get the other for 30 bucks
