Default Moog or.. NO MOOG control arms

Well hell I was about to order Moog R Series control arms with
bushings/ball joints- Now...not so sure.

L Upper: RK620172
R Upper: RK620173

L Lower: RK620300
R Lower: RK620464

Then I read bad reviews on:;
The lowers - sway bar tabs breaking, or no abs mount tabs/holes.
Have not seen any bad stuff on uppers yet,
**anyone have bad experience on uppers ?

Suggestions on alternate control arm brand.. ???

Wondering if I should keep lower arms and just replace ball joint and
bushings on lowers ???

Most members wind up buying the control arm and replacing the R series ball joint with a "Problem Solver" upgrade offered by Moog. I'm with you looking for an alternative. All the aftermarket tubular control arms applications are for either lifted $x$'s or lowered 2 wd. Vehicles modified so much the factory control arms have the wrong dimensions. Anybody know where to find tubular control arms for stock 4x4 that uses factory ball joints and bushings?

I have had no problems with the uppers so far. If I was doing it again I would order the MOOG problem solver control arms. They are a little more expensive but they also have the ball joints that can be greased.

I hear ya there....I just got off phone with GM and they
want 300.00 ea GM upper control arm,
and for lower they suggested I get from Car-Quest or O'Reilly

So I am on the hunt doing a cross reference on manufactures and orig gm numbers based on my Vin# for my 1999 4wd LT 4door:

Upper Left / Right - Orig OEM # 15661507 / 15661508
Lower Left / Right - Orig OEM # 15777767 / 15777768

I've put moog upper and lower control arms on two of mine without any problems. The uppers I ordered with the greasable ball joints and the lowers were cheaper to swap in the problem solver ball joints myself. One was a 98, the other a 99...

Ok Rusty Nuts; This is what I came up with as the
way I am thinking about going:

***All have greasable ball joints -Fits 4wd (mine anyway)***

CMAS CB90157 Arm w/ Ball Joint Left Upper; $65.79
CMAS CB90158 Arm w/ Ball Joint Right Upper; $65.79
MEVOTECH CMS501160 Supreme Right Lower; $97.79
MEVOTECH CMS501159 Supreme Left Lower; $97.79
Subtotal $327.16

Now for those real budget minded I found this kit of 4 arms;
193.00 / ( 204.00 shipped to Vegas )

Finally got my Driver / Passenger Upper / Lower Control
arms... Shocks and new torsion bar mounts installed today.

So with all new Tie rods / Pitman arm and Idler arm
that completes my front end suspension back
to new as I can get it.
